Campus Ambassador (Universities in Europe)
Job description
About the role
Would you like to get hands-on experience with the latest technologies and gain insight into industry-changing software development tools? Are you keen to diversify your skill set and expand your professional network? Join our team and become a JetBrains Campus Ambassador. At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started back in 2000, we have strived to make the strongest, most effective developer tools on earth. By automating routine checks and corrections, our tools speed up production, freeing developers to grow, discover, and create. We are looking for a passionate leader to help us raise awareness about JetBrains tools and internship opportunities on campus. If you are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate university degree and are familiar with JetBrains software development tools, such as IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, CLion, and others, this might be an exciting opportunity for you. In this role, you'll be able to share your experience of JetBrains products with your peers and help us spread the word that JetBrains provides tools to students for free and offers a number of internship opportunities in Europe.
What you'll do
As a JetBrains Campus Ambassador, you will serve as a driving force for technology adoption and community growth at your university. A core part of your mission will be conducting student meetups, workshops, and Q and A sessions, where you will give presentations on cool technologies that highlight the capabilities of JetBrains tools. You will actively promote internship opportunities and organize the presentation of internship projects, giving students direct insight into potential career paths at JetBrains. You will coordinate JetBrains' participation in campus career events, hackathons, and similar gatherings, ensuring a strong and visible JetBrains presence. Another key responsibility will be to set up a student club and mentor peers regarding the use of JetBrains tools, helping them to work more efficiently and effectively. Collaboration with fellow JetBrains campus ambassadors is essential, as you will work together to share best practices and drive joint initiatives. Maintaining a strong presence across campus to represent JetBrains and its core values is also central to the role. You will gather direct feedback from students about tools, needs, and expectations, providing valuable insights back to the company. Reporting activity progress and community growth metrics to the JetBrains team on a regular basis will help us track our impact and refine our support. Additionally, you will support the localization of materials and messaging to resonate with different European student audiences, ensuring that our communication is clear and culturally relevant. Finally, you will act as a bridge between the student community and JetBrains product teams, channeling student ideas and concerns directly to the source.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, there are several key requirements you must meet. First, you must be currently enrolled in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a background in software development. This academic foundation ensures you can speak knowledgeably about the tools and technologies you are promoting. Second, you need to be familiar with and have a passion for JetBrains tools, and be eager to share that passion with others. Your enthusiasm will be the primary driver of your success in engaging your peers. Third, you must possess excellent communication and public speaking skills, as your role will involve presenting to groups of varying sizes and answering technical questions with confidence. Experience planning events or leading a team would be a plus, as these skills will help you organize meetups and manage club activities effectively. You must be available to commit to the responsibilities outlined in this role for the duration of the program. This consistency is vital for building trust with your peers and maintaining momentum in your initiatives. You must be able to work remotely across European time zones while overlapping with core working hours, ensuring smooth coordination with the JetBrains team. Compliance with JetBrains brand guidelines and confidentiality agreements is mandatory, protecting both the company and its community members. Most importantly, you must be passionate about fostering a collaborative and inclusive student community, creating an environment where all students feel welcome to learn and grow.
