About the role
As a , you will play a pivotal role in overseeing construction projects in the beautiful US Virgin Islands. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, to facilitate seamless project execution. What you'll do
- Lead and supervise all phases of construction projects, from initial planning through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate daily activities on-site, managing subcontractors and labor teams to optimize productivity and ensure quality workmanship.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors, to address any issues that arise during construction.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, conducting safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety among all workers.
- Review and approve project plans, specifications, and change orders, ensuring all modifications are documented and communicated effectively.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for upper management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and inspection reports, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Resolve conflicts and issues that may arise during construction, utilizing problem-solving skills to maintain project momentum.
- Mentor and train junior staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring they understand best practices in construction management.
- Maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction, ensuring that the final product meets or exceeds client expectations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of budgeting and scheduling principles.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
Nice to have
- A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience working in the Caribbean or similar environments, with an understanding of local building codes and regulations.
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, can be advantageous for communication with diverse teams and clients.
