What you'll do

• Lead and supervise all phases of construction projects, from initial planning through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate daily activities on-site, managing subcontractors and labor teams to optimize productivity and ensure quality workmanship.
• Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors, to address any issues that arise during construction.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, conducting safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety among all workers.
• Review and approve project plans, specifications, and change orders, ensuring all modifications are documented and communicated effectively.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for upper management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and inspection reports, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
• Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of budgeting and scheduling principles.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.

Nice to have

• A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience working in the Caribbean or similar environments, with an understanding of local building codes and regulations.
