About the role
The IXL Associate Product Manager serves as a critical link between user needs and executable product solutions within IXL Learning. You will own the end-to-end management of specific learning products, driving them from initial concept validation through market launch and continuous optimization. This role requires you to balance data-driven analysis with creative problem-solving to overcome complex educational challenges. You will be expected to deepen your expertise in both product strategy and K-12 learning methodologies while delivering tangible results. Success in this position means making meaningful contributions that directly impact the learning experience for millions of users. You will be a proactive partner, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and efficacy. What you'll do
- Define the product vision and strategy for assigned learning modules while ensuring alignment with IXL's curriculum standards and user research findings.
- Translate complex teacher and student needs into clear, actionable product requirements and success metrics for the engineering team.
- Partner with Visual Design to craft user flows and interfaces that optimize engagement and learning outcomes for diverse classroom environments.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Marketing to remove roadblocks, iterate on solutions, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality product releases.
- Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to validate product decisions and guide future improvements.
- Develop a deep fluency in IXL's content domains, including math, English language arts, science, and social studies, to inform roadmap decisions.
- Lead rigorous product reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with educational outcomes for teachers and students.
- Collaborate with Marketing to build compelling narratives that highlight product value and drive adoption among school and district stakeholders.
- Prioritize features and initiatives across competing demands, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility to maintain team focus.
- Monitor product performance post-launch, gathering feedback and iterating on features to maximize impact and user satisfaction over time.
- Support the entire product lifecycle, from discovery and ideation through launch, monitoring, and ongoing optimization based on real-world usage.
- Act as an advocate for the user, ensuring that student and teacher perspectives remain central in every product decision and trade-off.
- Document product decisions, roadmaps, and rationales to maintain clarity and continuity for the broader product organization.
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices to elevate the overall product management capability within IXL Learning.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
- Bring analytical rigor to ambiguous problems, using data and research to inform your conclusions and decisions.
- Possess one to three years of product management experience, or be a new graduate applying for an Associate role with strong potential.
- Demonstrate clear, concise written and spoken communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Solve complex problems using structured reasoning and a methodical approach to discovery and validation.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, building trust and mutual respect with engineers, designers, and marketers.
- Juggle shifting priorities while maintaining a disciplined focus on delivery, quality, and user outcomes.
- Self-teach new concepts related to curriculum, assessment, and classroom dynamics, applying them to product decisions quickly.
