What you'll do

• Assist in the daily operations of the library, including checking in and out materials, managing holds, and processing new acquisitions.
• Provide exceptional customer service by helping patrons locate resources, answering inquiries, and guiding them in the use of library services and technology.
• Organize and maintain library collections, ensuring that all materials are accurately cataloged and easily accessible to users.
• Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure the integrity of the library's collection and assist in weeding outdated or damaged materials.
• Collaborate with librarians to develop and implement programs and events that promote literacy and community engagement.
• Support the development of digital resources, including e-books and online databases, to enhance the library's offerings.
• Assist in the creation of promotional materials and social media content to raise awareness of library services and events.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with library trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Previous experience in a library or information services environment is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in using library management systems and digital resources.
• Familiarity with cataloging standards and classification systems.
