What you'll do

Define and establish the technical vision and architecture for complex projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term scalability.

Lead the technical decision-making process, evaluating frameworks, languages, and tools to determine the optimal technological stack for each challenge.

Act as a subject matter expert and mentor, providing daily support and advanced coaching to developers to elevate the overall technical capability of the team.

Champion the enforcement of strict coding standards, quality gates, and best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain exceptional code quality, enforce security standards, and share knowledge across the engineering organization.

Perform hands-on prototyping and spike solutions to de-risk complex technical assumptions and validate hypotheses early in the project lifecycle.

Ensure the implementation of robust DevOps practices, overseeing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and the monitoring of production environments.

Maintain a vigilant eye on the technological landscape, conducting regular research and experimentation on emerging tools and methodologies relevant to the stack.

Champion the adoption of cloud-native principles and manage the migration of applications towards containerized environments using Kubernetes and serverless architectures.

Act as the primary escalation point for critical technical issues, guiding the team through blockers and ensuring timely resolution.

Contribute to the broader Ippon community by authoring articles, delivering talks at conferences, and participating in prestigious industry events such as Meetups, Ippevents, Devfests, MixIT, and Devoxx.

Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories.

Drive the implementation of automated testing strategies to ensure high coverage and maintain a robust regression test suite.

Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that the team remains cohesive and motivated.

Take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from initial discovery and scoping phases through to final delivery and post-launch support.

Requirements

You hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

You possess a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development, with a significant portion focused on Java and related ecosystems.

You have a proven track record of at least 5 years in a leadership or technical coaching role, guiding teams through full development cycles.

You demonstrate an unwavering commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, adhering to the highest industry standards.

You are deeply proficient in the Java programming language and the Spring Boot framework, with a strong understanding of their ecosystem and design patterns.

You have hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies such as Angular or VueJS, enabling effective collaboration with UI development teams.

You possess a solid understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and major cloud platforms and their managed services.

You are fluent in both French and English, possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

Experience with Elasticsearch, Kafka, and NodeJS is highly valued.

A background in the financial, insurance, or e-commerce sectors is considered a significant asset.
