Interpath Laboratory is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-service-oriented Courier to join our team in Eugene, Oregon. In this role, you will serve as a critical link in the handling and transportation of time-sensitive medical specimens, ensuring their safe, secure, and timely movement across local and regional routes. You will be the primary point of contact for maintaining specimen integrity and meeting logistical expectations while interacting professionally with clients, laboratory staff, and internal teams. The position requires strict adherence to operational protocols, regulatory standards, and quality assurance procedures. This is a hands-on role focused on the accurate, reliable transport of critical diagnostic materials within a part-time schedule.
About the role
We are looking for a friendly and customer-service-oriented Courier with a clean driving record to enhance our team. In this position, you will coordinate the safe and secure movement of time-sensitive medical specimens across the designated local and regional routes. You will serve as the primary point of contact for ensuring the integrity and timely arrival of laboratory samples. The role requires adherence to strict logistical protocols and careful handling of sensitive materials. You will interact professionally with clients, laboratory staff, and internal teams to support seamless operations. Success in this position depends on your reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory standards. This is a hands-on position focused on the accurate and efficient transport of critical diagnostic items.
What you'll do
Coordinate the pickup and delivery of STAT specimens throughout the Eugene area and scheduled collections in Florence, OR. Provide consistent and professional customer service to internal and external clients during specimen interactions. Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance on company vehicles and transport equipment. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal confidentiality policies for all handled materials. Document all transport activities, times, and conditions using required reporting systems or logs. Maintain accurate records of specimen movements to support laboratory tracking and quality assurance. Transport laboratory supplies and related materials securely and in accordance with safety guidelines. Assist with interdepartmental communication to ensure smooth workflow and timely specimen processing. Support the implementation of new procedures and training requirements as introduced by laboratory management. Promote safety practices and proper handling techniques during all phases of specimen transport.
Requirements
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and proof of current insurance. Be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements. Be able to pass a background check and drug screening as required by company policy. Demonstrate the ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures. Show strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage time-sensitive tasks. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.

Nice to have

Practical notes
This is a part-time position with scheduled shifts Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The courier will be responsible for local pickup and transport of STAT specimens throughout the Eugene area, along with scheduled specimen pickup in Florence, OR. Travel within the Eugene-Springfield metropolitan area and occasional trips to Florence, Oregon are required. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
