About the role
Interpath Laboratory is seeking a Business Development Executive to own and expand our presence in the Portland, OR market. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and growing strategic accounts within a defined territory. Your primary focus will be on building trusted relationships and advancing complex sales cycles for clients in women's health, oncology, pathology, Pain Management, Behavior Health, and hospital networks. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating intricate laboratory and diagnostic needs into compelling, client-specific value. You will own the end-to-end sales process, from initial discovery to final contract execution, ensuring every opportunity is strategically managed. You will leverage deep market knowledge to uncover new opportunities and penetrate existing accounts to drive incremental revenue. You will serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, aligning Interpath's capabilities with client objectives and operational realities. Ultimately, you will be accountable for exceeding revenue targets while reinforcing Interpath's reputation as a reliable, innovative partner in diagnostics.

- Identify and qualify new enterprise-level opportunities across the Portland region using a data-driven approach to prioritize high-value accounts.
- Map complex organizational structures to identify and engage key decision makers, influencers, and champions within healthcare systems and provider networks.
- Architect tailored value propositions that address the specific clinical, financial, and operational needs of women's health, oncology, and pathology service lines.
- Guide Federally Qualified Health Centers and behavioral health providers through intricate procurement and implementation cycles with clear, step-by-step communication.
- Negotiate and close complex agreements, ensuring alignment on both clinical outcomes and financial metrics to protect long-term profitability.
- Translate clinical laboratory operations and payer dynamics into clear, data-driven narratives that resonate with executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, support, and finance teams to design and execute targeted campaigns that accelerate new account acquisition and retention.
- Analyze deal structures, compliance requirements, and regulatory considerations to ensure every proposal meets necessary standards and financial objectives.
- Manage the full sales pipeline within our CRM platform, maintaining rigorous forecasting accuracy and proactive opportunity sourcing at all times.
- Partner internally to resolve customer challenges, aligning internal resources and capabilities before presenting solutions to decision makers.
- Analyze market trends, competitive threats, and customer feedback to refine messaging, service offerings, and overall go-to-market strategies.
- Serve as a strategic advisor during complex sales cycles, positioning Interpath as the preferred partner for diagnostic and laboratory excellence.
- Develop and maintain detailed account plans that outline objectives, milestones, and success metrics for each strategic client.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to design customized solutions that address unique laboratory and diagnostic challenges.
Requirements
Candidates must bring a minimum of five years of progressive experience in anatomical and clinical laboratory sales. A proven track record of closing large, complex deals with enterprise-level healthcare providers is essential for success in this role. You should have a deep understanding of clinical laboratory operations, payer environments, and the relevant regulatory landscape that governs diagnostic services. Your communication and negotiation skills must be exceptional, allowing you to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership and clinical directors. Proficiency with CRM systems such as HC1 and Salesforce is required to manage data-driven sales metrics, monitor progress, and maintain an accurate view of the sales pipeline. You must be capable of analyzing market trends, assessing competitive threats, and adjusting strategies accordingly to remain effective in a dynamic healthcare environment. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain composure under pressure will be critical to achieving your targets. You must be authorized to work in the United States and meet all employment eligibility requirements as defined by federal law.
