About the role
Instructure is seeking an experienced and strategic communications leader to oversee and drive our global communications efforts outside North America. This role owns the development and execution of integrated public relations and thought leadership strategies specifically designed for international markets spanning EMEA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. The hire will be responsible for architecting how Instructure communicates with diverse audiences across these regions, ensuring every initiative aligns with the overarching business objectives and reinforces the company's market position. This position demands a proactive mindset focused on elevating brand awareness, cultivating robust media relationships, and actively supporting the company's ambitious growth initiatives on a global scale. As a pivotal member of the global communications team, the Director will collaborate seamlessly with regional marketing teams, executive leadership, and external agencies to amplify Instructure's presence, reputation, and credibility internationally. What you'll do
Orchestrate and lead the development, execution, and measurement of comprehensive public relations and integrated marketing strategies for international markets outside North America.
Champion the creation and dissemination of compelling thought leadership content that positions Instructure as an industry authority across EMEA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific regions.
Architect and manage media relations programs, cultivating strategic partnerships with key international media outlets to secure high-impact coverage and visibility.
Develop and refine core messaging frameworks, ensuring they resonate effectively with diverse cultural audiences and align with regional business priorities.
Spearhead the management of social media strategies and content calendars, driving engagement and amplifying key narratives across international platforms.
Lead proactive media outreach, pitch development, and story pitching initiatives to secure prominent placements in target markets and key verticals.
Partner closely with regional marketing teams and executive stakeholders to synchronize communications initiatives with product launches and strategic campaigns.
Champion the monitoring and analysis of media landscapes, tracking coverage, sentiment, and competitor activities to inform future strategies.
Implement robust systems for documenting initiatives, establishing performance tracking mechanisms, and producing detailed analytical reports on media performance.
Assume ownership of crisis communications planning and response execution in international markets, ensuring calm, timely, and effective issue management.
Champion collaboration across a matrixed organization, aligning closely with regional teams, global leadership, and external agencies to maximize impact.
Identify and cultivate relationships with key analysts and influencers, leveraging these connections to amplify Instructure's message and credibility.

Requirements
Possess over 10 years of cumulative experience in corporate communications, strategic communications, public relations, or analyst relations, including senior leadership responsibilities.
Demonstrate full fluency and a strong command of the English language, applying this proficiency consistently across all communications, meetings, and content development tasks.
Bring a proven track record of developing and executing integrated PR and marketing strategies across multiple international regions, with a specific focus on EMEA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
Show deep expertise in core communications disciplines including public relations, social media management, message development, and media relations.
Exhibit strong collaboration skills, enabling effective partnership within a matrixed organizational structure and with a diverse range of external partners and agencies.
Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying intricate concepts clearly, persuasively, and professionally to varied international audiences.
Demonstrate a history of setting strategic direction, juggling multiple complex projects, and delivering tangible results within fast-paced, dynamic environments.
