QA Engineer (Injective Labs)
Job description
About the role
Injective Labs is seeking a versatile Quality Engineer to help deliver reliable, high-quality experiences across a growing portfolio of Web3 products and blockchain innovations. The primary focus of this role will be testing frontend dApps and building UI automation testing suites to ensure seamless, reliable user experiences and quality control. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to validate web applications, mobile experiences, blockchain integrations, APIs, trading systems, and internal tooling. This position requires a deep commitment to ownership, where you are expected to drive testing initiatives from conception through execution and continuous improvement. Success in this role demands a passion for learning new technologies, solving complex problems, and taking responsibility in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate will perform hands-on manual testing while also designing and maintaining robust automated UI test suites and investigating technical issues collaboratively.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Perform manual, exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across multiple products and systems to validate functionality and uncover issues.
- Design, build, and maintain a comprehensive UI automation test suite and quality tooling using Typescript, integrating wallet extensions such as MetaMask and Keplr into the testing workflows.
- Validate functionality across diverse web applications, backend services, blockchain infrastructure, APIs, and protocol-level features to ensure seamless user experiences.
- Investigate issues spanning frontend, backend, infrastructure, and distributed systems by analyzing logs, metrics, network traffic, and system behavior to identify root causes.
- Collaborate actively with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle to align testing efforts with product goals.
- Contribute to release validation, test strategy formulation, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance overall product quality.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate testing, automation, investigation, and productivity as part of modern quality engineering practices.
- Support new products, features, and initiatives as business priorities evolve, ensuring testing coverage keeps pace with rapid development cycles.
- Assist with production investigations, incident analysis, and post-release validation to uphold system reliability and user trust.
- Proactively identify quality gaps, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve product reliability, testing coverage, and overall system robustness.
- Implement and refine test frameworks, utilities, and documentation to enable scalable and maintainable testing practices across the organization.
- Partner with developers to create testable builds, reproduce bugs efficiently, and verify fixes to reduce friction in the development workflow.
- Monitor test suite health, optimize execution times, and maintain high standards of reliability and performance for automation pipelines.
- Explore emerging testing methodologies, tools, and patterns within the Web3 and blockchain domains to bring innovative quality practices to the team.
- Ensure all testing activities align with security, compliance, and operational standards relevant to financial applications and blockchain systems.
Requirements
- 4-5 years of experience as a QA Engineer with a proven track record in delivering quality for complex software products.
- Experience testing frontend Web3 applications, dApps, wallets, smart contract integrations, or other user-facing blockchain experiences to ensure correctness and usability.
- Experience testing frontend trading platforms, decentralized exchanges, financial dashboards, or other complex distributed applications with user-critical workflows that demand high reliability.
- Experience with both manual testing and test automation, demonstrating a balance between exploratory testing and structured test coverage.
- Proficiency in Typescript and experience developing or maintaining automation frameworks such as Playwright and internal tooling to support scalable test execution.
- Experience with Playwright, Pytest, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, or similar technologies to build resilient and maintainable test environments.
- Experience testing and debugging REST, gRPC, WebSocket, or other API-driven systems to validate backend services and integration points.
- Familiarity with blockchain transactions, wallet integrations, blockchain explorers, and smart contract interactions to effectively test decentralized applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across multiple layers of the technology stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services.
- Ability to quickly learn new products, technologies, and domains with minimal guidance, adapting to evolving project requirements and technologies.
- Comfortable contributing across different products, technologies, and layers of the stack rather than focusing on a single specialization, ensuring flexibility and collaboration.
- Strong sense of ownership and the ability to independently drive investigations from problem discovery through resolution, ensuring issues are thoroughly understood and addressed.
- Practical experience using AI tools to improve productivity while applying sound engineering judgment and common sense to ensure quality outcomes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to convey findings, risks, and recommendations clearly.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations or incident response activities as needed to support production systems and maintain high availability.
