Product Designer (Injective Labs)

About the role

We are looking for a talented Product Designer to join our team and work on the development of Injective's web products and decentralized applications (DAPPs). This position offers a unique opportunity to be deeply involved in the DeFi space, contributing to innovative financial solutions built on a leading blockchain platform. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to craft user-centered designs that enhance the overall experience of our products. You will be responsible for translating complex ideas into intuitive and engaging interfaces, ensuring that our users can seamlessly interact with our decentralized finance applications. This role requires a hands-on approach, a passion for design excellence, and a keen understanding of user needs within the blockchain and DeFi ecosystem.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Lead design projects across the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to final implementation, supporting multiple product launches and updates.
• Promote and propagate a strong design practice within the organization, influencing product strategy and ensuring high standards of design quality.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and business teams to develop practical, elegant, and user-friendly design solutions that meet business goals.
• Engage with users through feedback, interviews, and usability testing to understand their needs and develop strategies that deliver delightful and effective experiences.
• Rapidly generate multiple concepts, wireframes, and prototypes, knowing when to focus on detailed pixel-perfect designs and when to employ low-fidelity sketches for quick iteration.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems, reusable components, and style guides to ensure consistency across products.
• Advocate for user-centric design principles, ensuring that user needs and feedback are central to product development.
• Support the iteration process by analyzing user feedback, analytics, and testing results to refine designs continuously.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI/UX design, especially within the blockchain and DeFi sectors.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Communicate design ideas effectively to stakeholders and team members, ensuring alignment and understanding across departments.
• Contribute to creating a cohesive visual language and branding that aligns with Injective's mission and values.
• Assist in onboarding new team members and mentoring junior designers as needed.
• Support the integration of design with development teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs.
• Participate in design reviews, critiques, and collaborative sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Help shape the future of Injective's product offerings by providing innovative design solutions that push the boundaries of DeFi user experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in UI/UX design roles, with a proven track record of designing consumer-facing web and mobile products.
• Experience working on projects in the fintech or financial services sector is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate ideas.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, emphasizing attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), and other relevant design tools.
• Deep understanding of UX design heuristics, information architecture, and interaction design principles.
• Strong graphic design skills, including layout, typography, and color theory.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating design concepts clearly and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for blockchain, DeFi, and emerging Web3 technologies.
• Based in North/South America or Europe time zones to facilitate collaboration with global teams.
• A proactive attitude, with a desire to learn and grow within the blockchain and DeFi space.
• Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with product development cycles.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working directly within the crypto or blockchain industry.
• Experience working at a cryptocurrency exchange, whether centralized (CEX) or decentralized (DEX).
• Knowledge of decentralized finance primitives, protocols, and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with smart contract platforms and Web3 development.
• Understanding of ITAR regulations and compliance considerations in design, especially relevant for certain blockchain projects.
• Experience designing for mobile platforms, including iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
• Previous involvement in open-source projects or community-driven design initiatives.
