About the role
This internship position places you at the center of digital storytelling and public outreach for one of the nation's most critical institutions. You will own the end to end process of crafting narratives that translate complex defence initiatives into compelling content for diverse audiences. Your work will directly support the strategic communication goals of the Indian Army by ensuring that key messages resonate across digital platforms. You will act as a bridge between technical defence projects and the public sphere, making innovation understandable and engaging. This role demands a high level of ownership over your deliverables, from initial concept to final execution. You will be responsible for maintaining the tone and quality standards that represent the professionalism of the Indian Army. Ultimately, your contributions will shape how defence related content is perceived and understood online and offline.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Conceptualise and produce a diverse range of digital assets, including social media posts, posters, infographics, presentations, newsletters, videos and promotional material.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute multi channel social media campaigns that promote Army initiatives, webinars, events and innovation programmes.
- Apply excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills to ensure clarity, accuracy, and impact in every piece of content you create.
- Demonstrate proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, alongside a thorough familiarity with major social media platforms and their specific requirements.
- Leverage strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining creativity while adhering to strict timelines and thematic priorities.
- Channel a deep interest in defence, technology, innovation and strategic communications to inform the research and angle of your content.
- Translate complex defence concepts into accessible narratives through hands on experience in content creation, stakeholder engagement, digital communications and national level defence innovation initiatives.
- Work in close partnership with the Army Design Bureau to ensure that all outputs align with institutional objectives and visual identity standards.
- Analyse the performance of your content and iterate based on feedback and emerging trends in digital engagement.
- Contribute to building a cohesive communication strategy that supports the broader mission of the Indian Army in the digital age.
- Assist in the curation and scheduling of content across various platforms to maintain a consistent and authoritative presence.
- Support the documentation of innovation programmes and events to create lasting visual and textual records for future reference.
- Engage with emerging digital tools and methodologies to enhance the quality and reach of communication efforts.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, security awareness, and ethical communication in every task you undertake.
Requirements
- You must be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication degree with specialisation in any discipline.
- You must be available for the full 75 days of the internship period without exception.
- You must possess relevant skills and a demonstrated interest in the project area, particularly in content creation and communication.
- You must be proficient in using graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to produce high quality visual content.
- You must have a strong grasp of social media platforms and understand how to tailor content for each distinct channel.
- You must exhibit excellent organisational skills, allowing you to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- You must show creativity in your approach to problem solving and content development, bringing fresh ideas to communication challenges.
- You must have a genuine interest in defence, technology, innovation, and strategic communications to drive your engagement with the subject matter.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with data analysis, Power BI, and tableu would be advantageous for handling communication metrics.
- Familiarity with social media outreach techniques and data entry tasks that support campaign management.
- Any previous exposure to national level defence innovation programmes or related projects.
Practical notes
- Working hours are fixed from 9:00 AM To 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday at the designated Delhi location.
- The stipend of Up to ₹75000 is disbursed only after successful completion of the internship; interns with under 75 percent attendance are ineligible for payment.
- Police verification is a mandatory requirement and must be completed before you can officially join the programme.
- Accommodation is not provided for interns, and you must make alternative arrangements for your stay in Delhi.
- Personal smartphones and laptops are restricted on the premises; you are required to use the workstations provided by the Indian Army for all official tasks.
