Key facts

What you'll do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges in image optimization and delivery.
• Develop and maintain software solutions that enhance the performance of our image processing and delivery systems.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality standards and best practices are upheld within the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new features based on client feedback and market trends.
• Conduct performance testing and optimization of existing systems to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
• Document processes, workflows, and technical specifications to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to image processing and web performance.
• Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the table.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in software development and support.
• Engage with clients to gather requirements and provide technical support, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create technical content that showcases our products and services.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development, preferably in a web or mobile application environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby, with a strong understanding of web technologies.
• Familiarity with image processing techniques and tools, as well as experience with CDN (Content Delivery Network) technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, particularly in relation to image storage and processing.
• Experience with front-end frameworks like React or Angular, which can enhance our web applications.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, to streamline our development processes.
• Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and how they relate to image presentation and performance.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in a technical support capacity.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in programming languages: Python, JavaScript, Ruby.
• Familiarity with image processing libraries and tools.
• Experience with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms and CDN technologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
