What you'll do

• Design and create high-quality visual effects for various projects, including animations, games, and interactive media.
• Collaborate with the art and design teams to conceptualize and implement VFX that align with the overall vision of the project.
• Utilize industry-standard software and tools to produce effects that are visually compelling and technically sound.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance and integration within different platforms and engines.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions for visual storytelling.
• Review and refine VFX based on feedback from team members and stakeholders to ensure the highest quality output.
• Maintain organized files and documentation of VFX assets for easy access and future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in visual effects and digital art to continuously improve your skills and contribute to the team's growth.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to VFX production, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of assets.
• Mentor junior artists and provide guidance on best practices in VFX creation and software usage.
• Collaborate with sound designers to ensure that visual effects are complemented by appropriate audio elements.
• Participate in post-production processes, including compositing and color grading, to finalize the visual presentation of projects.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in visual effects production, preferably in gaming or animation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Autodesk Maya, Houdini, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of VFX principles, including particle systems, simulations, and compositing techniques.
• Experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is highly desirable.
• A solid portfolio showcasing a range of visual effects work, demonstrating creativity and technical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• A passion for visual storytelling and a desire to create immersive experiences through VFX.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or MEL for automating tasks in VFX workflows.
• Experience in VR/AR development and creating effects for immersive environments.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and texturing to complement VFX creation.
• Previous experience working in a collaborative studio environment, particularly in a contract role.
• Understanding of color theory and its application in visual effects.
