Key facts

What you'll do

• Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and other developers to create immersive gaming experiences that meet design specifications and player expectations.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for game mechanics, user interfaces, and backend systems, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation and testing, to deployment and maintenance.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing games, providing timely solutions to enhance gameplay and user experience.
• Implement game features and mechanics using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks, ensuring compatibility across various platforms.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in game development technologies, tools, and methodologies to ensure our projects remain competitive and innovative.
• Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and user manuals to support the development process and assist other team members.
• Work closely with the QA team to identify and resolve bugs, ensuring a polished final product that meets quality standards.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new game concepts and features that align with our company's vision.
• Assist in optimizing game performance by analyzing and refining code, assets, and processes to maximize efficiency and minimize load times.
• Engage with the gaming community to gather feedback and insights that can inform future development efforts and enhance player satisfaction.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in game development.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on game development preferred.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, or Java, along with experience in game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
• Strong understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and player engagement strategies.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git, to manage code changes and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• A passion for gaming and a deep understanding of current gaming trends and technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiplayer game development and networking protocols.
• Knowledge of VR/AR technologies and their application in gaming.
• Familiarity with mobile game development and optimization for iOS and Android platforms.
• Previous experience working in a startup environment or on indie game projects.
• Understanding of monetization strategies and in-game economy design.
