Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop detailed 3D models using BIM software to represent architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) designs.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather and analyze design requirements and ensure that all models meet project specifications.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation of all BIM models, including revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct clash detection and resolve conflicts between various building systems to ensure seamless integration.
• Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including drawings and specifications, based on the BIM models.
• Participate in project meetings to provide insights and updates on the BIM process and model development.
• Train and mentor junior staff in BIM practices and software usage to enhance team capabilities.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BIM technology to continuously improve processes and workflows.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and best practices in BIM execution and documentation.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including subcontractors and clients, to facilitate effective communication and project delivery.
• Support the development of project schedules and budgets by providing accurate modeling data and estimates.
• Contribute to quality assurance processes by reviewing models for accuracy and completeness before final submission.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in BIM detailing or a related field, preferably within the construction or architectural industry.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of 3D modeling techniques.
• Solid knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve design conflicts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools is a plus.
• A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certification in BIM or related areas is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with 4D and 5D BIM modeling for project scheduling and cost estimation.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building certifications.
• Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and its applications in BIM.

Skills & tools

• Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM software.
• Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing.
• Familiarity with clash detection tools and methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for reporting and presentations.

• This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
