Venture Executive - Montreal
Job description
About the role
At Human Agency, we are scaling rapidly and building multiple ventures that demand exceptional talent who can act with urgency and ownership. The world is changing fast, and so is this role. We cannot fully predict what this job will look like in six months. That is true of every role at Human Agency right now. What we need from you, no matter what: accountability, curiosity, and a builder-first mindset. If that sounds exciting, keep reading. If it sounds intimidating but you are still interested, let's talk. If none of that sounds like you, that's okay. This probably isn't your spot.
We partner with organizations of all sizes to explore, design, and implement AI strategies that are secure, scalable, and human-centered. We believe AI should amplify human potential, not replace it, and we build with that conviction in every engagement. From advisory and tooling to implementation and education, we meet clients where they are and help them integrate AI in ways that align with their mission and values. Our goal is to empower teams to work smarter, move faster, and unlock new possibilities through thoughtful, responsible innovation.
And through it all, we lead with purpose, love, and adventure. We do meaningful work with people we care about, and we make the ride an adventure worth taking. Because at Human Agency, who we are and how we work are one and the same.
What you'll do
You are going to run one of our ventures. Not assist on it. Not support it. Run it. You are a CEO without the title - yet. We hand you a venture, the AI infrastructure to build it faster than anyone else could, and the autonomy to make it work. You own the product. You own the customers. You own the revenue. You own the P&L.
This isn't a fellowship or a residency. It isn't a training ground. We are looking for someone who has already proven they can take something from zero to real - someone who knows what it feels like to build, ship, sell, and iterate under pressure. Someone who doesn't need a playbook because they have written one before.
You will exercise full ownership over a venture, defining product vision, customer strategy, and operational execution. You will develop AI-native products where artificial intelligence serves as the foundational layer of your build process. You will drive revenue generation by acquiring customers, closing deals, and delivering tangible value. You will recruit, hire, and lead a high-performing team while shaping culture, standards, and collaborative dynamics. You will make rapid strategic decisions under uncertainty, killing underperforming ideas and doubling down on validated momentum. You will provide transparent studio reporting, sharing progress, learnings, challenges, and pivots with leadership regularly. You will utilize Human Agency studio resources, AI tooling, network, and capital to accelerate venture development. You will maintain accountability for product, customers, and financial outcomes in a fast-moving, ownership-first environment. You will balance speed with judgment, prioritizing decisive action while learning continuously from outcomes and feedback. You will align venture goals with client missions, ensuring products are both functional and beautiful in real-world contexts.
Requirements
Location: Canada
You have run something real before - a startup, a product line, a business unit, or a revenue-generating venture where you owned the outcome. You possess both product instinct and sales instinct, able to build solutions people want and persuade them to pay for those solutions. You are AI-native in your approach to work, already building with AI tools rather than building around them. You have managed a P&L or been directly accountable for financial performance, understanding unit economics and burn rate. You have proof of work, including tangible artifacts you have built, shipped, sold, or grown that demonstrate your capabilities.
You are self-managing and self-directing, capable of figuring out priorities and executing without constant direction. You make swift decisions using incomplete information and accept being wrong as part of learning and correcting course quickly. You think like an owner, not an employee, taking full responsibility for problems and solutions without waiting for permission. You thrive on autonomy and accountability, feeling energized rather than paralyzed by ownership demands and venture uncertainty. You are intellectually honest, willing to kill your darlings when data indicates so and to double down when momentum proves real. You care deeply about building something meaningful beyond compensation, focusing on mission, product impact, and user value. You understand that at Human Agency, roles evolve rapidly and adaptability is essential for navigating ambiguity and change.
Compensation and logistics include a competitive base salary, performance-based incentives, and potential equity participation in the venture you build. Some travel is required. This is a full-time employment position open to candidates based in the US or Canada.
Equal Opportunity Commitment
Human Agency is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building inclusive, high-performing teams where everyone can do their best work.
