Horizon3 is seeking a Federal Field Marketing Manager to drive demand within government sectors. This role focuses on creating and executing marketing strategies specifically for the federal government, including civilian agencies, the Department of Defense, and the Defense Industrial Base. The objective is to generate qualified sales opportunities by understanding and addressing the unique procurement and compliance needs of these markets.

What you'll do
- Develop and manage the field marketing strategy for federal and public sector segments, aligning programs with pipeline generation goals.
- Collaborate with federal sales leadership to ensure field marketing efforts support territory objectives and active sales opportunities.
- Establish clear return on investment (ROI) benchmarks for all federal field marketing initiatives, with mandatory post-event pipeline reviews.
- Create and maintain a federal field marketing calendar that accounts for agency budget cycles and procurement timelines.
- Design and implement targeted field programs, such as agency roundtables and executive dinners, tailored to federal audiences.
- Coordinate outreach efforts with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and partners to maximize engagement from field activities.
- Work with the Channel Field Marketing Manager and Carahsoft to develop joint marketing programs that drive pipeline through indirect sales channels.
- Partner with the federal sales team and channel partners on co-sell events, including agency briefings and compliance-focused workshops.
- Tailor program themes to specific segments, addressing compliance mandates for civilian agencies and CMMC requirements for DoD and DIB suppliers.
- Manage the federal field marketing budget with a focus on measurable ROI and pipeline contribution.
- Build and report on a performance framework for federal field activities, tracking key metrics like pipeline generated and ROI.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B field marketing, with significant experience in the federal or public sector market.
- A strong understanding of federal government purchasing processes, including budget cycles, procurement constraints, compliance frameworks, and partner-led sales motions.
- Experience executing field programs across at least two of the following segments: civilian agencies, DoD, Defense Industrial Base, or State and Local Government (SLED).
- A proven history of generating pipeline through federal field programs, supported by data.
- Experience collaborating with federal channel partners, distributors, and systems integrators on co-marketing initiatives.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with sales, channel, SDR, demand generation, and product marketing teams.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC, FISMA, and CISA KEV.
- Proficiency in using Salesforce for pipeline tracking and field program attribution.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple programs, partner relationships, and timelines concurrently.
Nice to have
- Experience in the cybersecurity, DevSecOps, or related B2B security markets with a federal focus.
- Familiarity with Carahsoft and the broader federal distribution ecosystem.
- Direct experience or background within the Defense Industrial Base.
- Experience with NSA, CISA, or DoD-adjacent programs.
- Familiarity with intent data and account-based marketing (ABM) tools like ZoomInfo Co-Pilot and ReachDesk/Sendoso.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Pardot, Marketo, or HubSpot for federal field programs.
