This role is for a builder who is passionate about AI and wants to join a global semiconductor company on their SoC AI team as a Staff Engineer focused on agentic models. The hire will be instrumental in redefining how autonomous systems interact with the real world by bringing creative minds that thrive in rapid-paced, mission-driven environments. You will gain unique experience integrating AI models with both software and hardware, learning how to make autonomous systems function seamlessly across the entire stack from initial concept through training, fine-tuning, and RL, deploying them for agentic systems. What you'll do
- Own the full lifecycle of agentic AI models, architecting, training, fine-tuning, and optimizing them specifically for AI agents within complex system environments.
- Collaborate hand-in-hand with hardware, software, and product teams to architect and implement advanced, autonomous behaviors into smart agentic systems that meet rigorous industry standards.
- Prototype with the latest reinforcement learning and multi-agent paradigms, pushing boundaries and making models work robustly in the real world, even when computational resources are constrained.
- Constantly iterate on model design, tuning for speed, reliability, efficiency, and seamless integration with embedded hardware to ensure optimal performance in production scenarios.
- Identify and pioneer new methodologies to leverage agentic models across edge and embedded AI platforms, staying ahead of the curve and championing next-generation applications that redefine user interaction.
- Drive the translation of high-level product requirements into technical specifications for agentic behaviors, ensuring alignment between innovative AI capabilities and real-world application needs.
- Establish rigorous testing and validation frameworks for agentic models, ensuring they operate reliably, safely, and ethically across diverse operational conditions and use cases.
- Mentor and guide cross-functional teams on best practices for developing and deploying agentic AI, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation throughout the organization.
- Partner with research institutions and industry leaders to explore cutting-edge techniques in agentic AI, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of technological advancement in semiconductor applications.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks that streamline the development, deployment, and monitoring of agentic models across the entire product lifecycle.
Requirements
- Deeply hands-on experience with AI model development for agentic systems demonstrated through a portfolio of innovative real-world projects, or a record of published technical papers in top conferences that showcase your creative and practical expertise in the field.
- Extensive experience in autonomous agent modeling, reinforcement learning, adaptive algorithms, and frameworks like RAG, persistent memory architectures, and multi-agent collaboration systems.
- Professional fluency in Python and C/C++, with the ability to write efficient, maintainable code that integrates seamlessly with complex software systems.
- Demonstrated comfort working with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar deep learning platforms, with a strong understanding of the underlying mathematical principles and architectural decisions.
- Innate problem-solving abilities combined with exceptional communication skills, enabling you to connect with diverse stakeholders, share complex technical concepts clearly, and lead cross-functional teams toward shared objectives.
- Proven capacity to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, making informed decisions with limited data while maintaining focus on long-term strategic goals.

Practical notes
The role operates during standard business hours with possible occasional adjustments to meet critical project milestones or deadlines.
