Senior DevOps Engineer
Job description
About the role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer who demonstrates passion for treating infrastructure as software. The primary focus involves designing, building, and maintaining automated infrastructure through Terraform. This position operates under an "Automation First" strategy to ensure cloud environments remain scalable, reproducible, and secure via code. The role is strictly centered on provisioning, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience Level spans 5-8 years. The location is Hyderabad. Work Mode requires 5 days in the office. You will architect and maintain complex infrastructure modules using Terraform to guarantee consistent environment setups across Development, Staging, and Production environments. Design and deployment of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on [AWS/Azure/GCP] form a core part of the cloud architecture responsibilities. You will build and optimize automated deployment pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to streamline the delivery of containerized applications.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and maintain complex infrastructure modules using Terraform to guarantee consistent environment setups across Development, Staging, and Production environments.
- Design and deployment of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on [AWS/Azure/GCP] form a core part of the cloud architecture responsibilities.
- Build and optimize automated deployment pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to streamline the delivery of containerized applications.
- Management and orchestration of containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) is expected.
- Automation of server configurations and image creation will be handled through tools such as Ansible or Packer.
- Implementation of "Security as Code" will involve integrating automated vulnerability scanning and IAM policy enforcement within the Infrastructure as Code workflow.
- Collaboration with development teams will focus on containerizing applications and providing self-service infrastructure capabilities.
- Define and enforce standards for infrastructure versioning, code reviews, and pipeline security to ensure operational reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure failures by analyzing logs, metrics, and pipeline execution data to maintain system integrity.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, automated infrastructure solutions.
- Optimize cloud resource usage and costs through infrastructure refactoring and efficient design patterns.
- Drive the adoption of infrastructure best practices across engineering teams through documentation and hands-on support.
- Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the automation landscape and improve deployment velocity.
- Ensure all infrastructure changes are compliant with organizational policies and security standards.
Requirements
Expert-level experience with Terraform (HCL) is mandatory, including state management, workspaces, and reusable module development. Strong hands-on experience with [AWS/Azure/GCP] services such as VPC, IAM, Compute, RDS, and S3 is required. Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker, including writing Dockerfiles and managing K8s manifests or Helm charts, is essential. Advanced proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go is necessary for automation tasks. Expert knowledge of Git, including branching strategies and GitOps workflows, is required. Experience with build tools like Maven, Gradle, or similar tools for Java, Node, or Python environments is expected. A mindset that refuses to perform the same task manually twice defines the Automation-First approach. Analytical Thinking enables debugging of complex networking or deployment issues within distributed systems. Communication skills must facilitate the explanation of architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines is critical. A strong sense of ownership and accountability for production infrastructure stability is required. Willingness to adhere to strict process documentation and standard operating procedures is essential for success in this role.
Practical notes
Please This role centers on infrastructure automation, cloud architecture, and CI/CD pipeline ownership without involvement in monitoring systems. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence through code and enforce security measures within deployment flows.
