What you'll do

• Conduct regular maintenance checks on automated systems and machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues in production equipment, implementing effective solutions.
• Perform repairs on various types of machinery, including conveyor systems, packaging machines, and robotic systems, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize machine performance and implement upgrades or modifications as necessary.
• Document maintenance activities and repairs in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
• Train and mentor junior staff members on maintenance procedures and best practices in mechatronics.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
• Work closely with production teams to minimize disruption during maintenance activities and ensure seamless operations.
• Analyze maintenance data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement preventive measures.
• Contribute to the development of maintenance schedules and strategies to enhance equipment reliability.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as a Mechatroniker or a similar qualification in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or repair of automated systems and machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills in both German and English, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally for training or equipment installation.

Nice to have

• Experience in the food production industry or similar fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
• Certification in safety and health regulations related to machinery operation.
• Familiarity with industry-specific software tools for maintenance management.
• Additional language skills are a plus, particularly in Dutch or French.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting machinery.
• Familiarity with CAD software for design and modification of mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of automation technologies and their applications in production environments.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (MMS) for tracking and documenting maintenance activities.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• This position is based in Verden, Niedersachsen, Germany, and may require occasional travel for training or equipment installation.
