This position is centered on automating the conversion of clinical notes into precise medical coding, necessitating a thorough understanding of hospital financial processes and a proactive approach to product development. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, coding specialists, and hospital executives to implement solutions that boost financial performance and operational effectiveness.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the product strategy for revenue cycle management across the US, UK, and Australian markets, managing the clinical coding engine and coder interface.
- Conduct in-person assessments at healthcare facilities to analyze coding workflows and initiate pilot programs with defined accuracy and throughput objectives.
- Create financial models and return on investment (ROI) justifications that effectively communicate the product's technical performance as a value proposition for Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and procurement departments.
- Establish and monitor coding accuracy metrics, employing human-in-the-loop methodologies to enhance model performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop connections with Electronic Health Records (EHR), code mapping, and tools for workflow orchestration.
- Work with clinicians to refine point-of-care documentation and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) queries that enhance the quality of downstream coding.
- Spearhead the commercial strategy, including developing pricing frameworks and sales enablement resources for large-scale enterprise agreements.
- Engage in continuous feedback loops with users to iterate on product features and ensure alignment with market needs.
- Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to inform product positioning and strategic direction.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for internal teams and external partners to ensure effective product adoption and utilization.
- Monitor industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure the product meets all necessary standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering healthcare products, particularly in roles focused on health systems.
- Comprehensive, hands-on understanding of revenue cycle operations, including ICD-10 coding, DRG assignment, Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) capture, and Evaluation and Management (E&M) leveling.
- Demonstrated capability to construct financial business cases and ROI models independently, without relying on external commercial analysts.
- Technical proficiency in large language model (LLM) systems, encompassing aspects like prompting, fine-tuning, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation.
- Experience in navigating intricate enterprise procurement processes and addressing challenges related to AI adoption in clinical environments.
- Strong ability to work autonomously in a startup-like setting, progressing from initial discovery phases to prototyping and final deployment.

- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards, particularly in revenue cycle management.
- Experience with agile product development methodologies and tools.
