We are currently seeking a Utility Worker to join our team. This role is integral to our production operations and requires diligence, collaboration, and a commitment to our standards.
Position Details and Work Context
This position operates with an start time of 5:00 AM. It is a full-time, hourly role. The compensation for this position is $24.66 hourly. The work location is in Honolulu, HI.
Primary Responsibilities
You will manage daily production activities from intake through build, review, and ship while coordinating with partners to uphold the Spirit of Hawai'i. The role requires you to monitor inventory accuracy, support quality checks, and ensure every batch meets standards before leaving our facilities. Collaboration across teams is essential to resolve issues, protect our brands, and contribute to community initiatives that benefit local residents.
Specific duties include setting schedules and confirming intake accuracy for incoming materials before the shift begins. You will operate equipment to build product batches while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Scanning items during review allows for verification of labels, weights, and packaging integrity against order requirements. You will coordinate with logistics partners to align ship preparations and maintain on time delivery commitments. Monitoring inventory levels throughout the build phase helps prevent shortages and supports continuous workflow. Troubleshooting line issues in collaboration with engineering teams reduces downtime and sustains productivity. Documenting batch records and process notes supports traceability and enables future improvements. Partnering with local community groups advances our Takitani foundation goals and environmental initiatives.
Requirements for Consideration
To be considered for this position, you must possess current authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. You should bring at least three years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or a related field. The physical demands include the ability to perform repetitive motions, lift moderate weights, and stand for extended periods during your shift. You must be available to work early morning hours, including the 5:00 AM start, on a regular basis. Strong communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with hosts across Honolulu, Hilo, Kona, Los Angeles, and Tokyo offices. Compliance with all safety guidelines, quality procedures, and regulatory standards is mandatory during every task.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Experience with macadamia products, snack foods, or confectionery items is valued. Familiarity with ERP systems and basic data entry for inventory tracking is considered a plus.
Proficiency with specific systems and products is required. You will utilize Oracle Netsuite. Your work will involve products such as Hawaiian Host, Mauna Loa, MacFarms, and Kapua Orchards.
