About the role
You serve as HackerRank's student advocate on campus. Your primary mission is to drive local outreach and event execution. You will own outreach, events, and community-building activities. This role converts your initiative into visible tech engagement for classmates. You represent our brand with consistent energy and integrity throughout each week. You will act as a bridge between the HackerRank platform and your academic community by organizing hands-on sessions. You will foster an inclusive environment where students feel empowered to explore coding and technical growth.
What you'll do
- Coordinate workshops and hackathons designed to excite students about skill building.
- Grow local developer networks through creative, hands-on initiatives.
- Guide peers to practice coding, refine interviews, and track progress on HackerRank.
- Partner with the HackerRank team on campus initiatives that strengthen community.
- Design engaging sessions that highlight opportunities around coding and careers.
- Represent HackerRank with confidence during meetups, online interactions, and student gatherings.
- Share authentic stories about your journey to motivate classmates on tech paths.
- Manage event logistics from promotion to execution while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Gather feedback from participants to iterate and improve future programming.
- Monitor and report on key engagement metrics to assess the impact of your activities.
- Stay updated on new features and opportunities from HackerRank to share with your campus.
- Collaborate with fellow ambassadors across regions to exchange ideas and best practices.
- Uphold the values of professionalism and enthusiasm in every interaction.
Requirements
You are currently enrolled as a college student in any field of study. You actively explore coding, creativity, and community activities. You participate in tech clubs or enjoy organizing engaging initiatives. You communicate clearly while leading confidently with peers. You know basic coding concepts and enjoy solving problems. You commit 4 to 6 hours weekly and adapt to evolving campus goals. You must be able to dedicate a continuous period of six months to the role. You must maintain satisfactory academic progress according to your institution's standards. You must have reliable internet access and a device capable of running standard web applications. You must respect the confidentiality of any proprietary information shared during your tenure. You must comply with the terms and conditions of the HackerRank ambassador program.

Role context
This opportunity is part of a volunteer-based, experiential learning program. It is not a full-time or part-time employment opportunity at HackerRank. The program is designed to help students build leadership, communication, and community-engagement skills while representing HackerRank on their campuses. The duration of the role is fixed at six months with a flexible weekly commitment. This role is offered on a remote and global basis, allowing participation from diverse academic environments.
