What you'll do
Handle high-volume inbound calls, chats, and emails from customers or partners at various stages of their journey - from discovery to onboarding.
Serve as a trusted advisor, helping small businesses or accounting partners select the right Gusto solutions for their specific needs and operational realities.
Support customers through the onboarding process to ensure a smooth, successful, and confidence-building start with the platform.
Demonstrate deep product knowledge and a steadfast commitment to ethical, customer-first selling in every interaction and decision.
Maintain accurate notes and pipeline details in Salesforce to guarantee excellent follow-through and visibility for the broader team.
Engage in consultative discovery conversations that uncover small business pain points and align Gusto features to tangible outcomes.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to escalate complex questions and ensure timely, accurate responses to customer inquiries.
Utilize AI tools relevant to the sales and onboarding role to enhance productivity, research, and communication effectiveness as part of daily workflows.
Adapt communication style to connect with diverse audiences, including small business owners, accountants, and payroll professionals.
Track and report on key engagement metrics to identify patterns and opportunities for improving the customer journey and conversion rates.

Requirements
1-3 years of experience in a sales or customer service role, providing a foundational understanding of consultative selling and client relationships.
Experience working in high-volume environments that include both inbound and outbound calling, demonstrating comfort with frequent interactions.
Proven success achieving or exceeding goals, showing discipline, ownership, and a results-driven approach to performance.
A passion for consultative, solution-oriented selling focused on helping small businesses solve real-world problems and achieve growth.
Comfortable using Salesforce or similar CRM systems to manage opportunities, notes, and customer interactions accurately.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex product details into clear, actionable guidance.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and a high standard of work.
Willingness to engage with AI tools and learn new technologies that support sales processes and customer service excellence.
