What you'll do

• Conduct comprehensive compliance audits to evaluate adherence to internal policies and external regulations, identifying areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees to ensure understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact company operations.
• Manage the due diligence process for new vendors and partners, ensuring that all necessary background checks and assessments are completed.
• Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated across the organization.
• Monitor compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, and ensure that all data handling practices meet legal requirements.
• Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from employees and external parties, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Participate in risk assessment activities to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, due diligence assessments, and training sessions for auditing purposes.
• Support the corporate governance framework by ensuring that compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during compliance reviews and audits, providing necessary documentation and information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related area, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of compliance regulations and frameworks, including anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection laws.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and make informed decisions.
• Proven experience in conducting audits and compliance assessments, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey compliance concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Nice to have

• Professional certification in compliance, such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar.
• Experience with compliance management software and tools.
• Familiarity with international compliance standards and practices, particularly in the European Union.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

• This position is based in Ta' Xbiex, Malta, and may require occasional travel for training or compliance-related events.
