What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive compliance audits to evaluate adherence to internal policies and external regulations, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees to ensure understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact company operations.
- Manage the due diligence process for new vendors and partners, ensuring that all necessary background checks and assessments are completed.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated across the organization.
- Monitor compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, and ensure that all data handling practices meet legal requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from employees and external parties, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in risk assessment activities to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, due diligence assessments, and training sessions for auditing purposes.
- Support the corporate governance framework by ensuring that compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during compliance reviews and audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related area, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of compliance regulations and frameworks, including anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection laws.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and make informed decisions.
- Proven experience in conducting audits and compliance assessments, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey compliance concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Nice to have
- Professional certification in compliance, such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar.
- Experience with compliance management software and tools.
- Familiarity with international compliance standards and practices, particularly in the European Union.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Practical notes
- This position is based in Ta' Xbiex, Malta, and may require occasional travel for training or compliance-related events.
