What you'll do

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.
• Manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis to guarantee timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prepare budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
• Conduct regular audits of financial records and processes to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital, providing regular reports to senior management on financial performance and forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations, optimizing tax liabilities where possible.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations, proactively adjusting practices to maintain compliance.
• Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management to support strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including IFRS and local GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.

• Previous experience in a tech or startup environment is advantageous.
