In this role, you will take raw footage and submissions from creators and transform them into engaging videos tailored for platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. What you'll do
- Create dynamic short-form videos for paid social initiatives by utilizing creative briefs, raw footage, and content provided by creators.
- Design compelling openings and maintain an engaging pace to capture viewer interest within the crucial first few seconds.
- Generate various video formats, including different lengths, aspect ratios, and captions, to facilitate A/B testing and optimize performance.
- Collaborate closely with creative strategists to effectively translate project briefs into visual narratives that resonate with the target audience.
- Incorporate feedback to enhance edits in alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
- Review historical campaign performance data to pinpoint opportunities for editorial enhancements.
- Tailor edits to meet the specific requirements of each platform, ensuring adherence to guidelines regarding specifications, safe zones, captions, and native styles for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends, formats, and successful editing practices within the realm of paid social media.
- Refine unedited creator footage into polished, on-brand video assets that meet project expectations.
- Recognize potential challenges within creator footage and suggest creative solutions to overcome them.
- Collaborate with creative strategists, brand teams, and fellow editors in a fast-paced production environment.
- Efficiently receive and implement structured feedback, delivering revisions promptly while upholding high-quality standards.
- Maintain organized project files, including versions and exports, to facilitate easy tracking and handover processes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in video editing for paid social media, digital marketing, or social media platforms, with a background in agencies, in-house brands, or freelance work being advantageous.
- A portfolio that highlights your short-form editing capabilities, showcasing your skills in pacing, hooks, captions, and platform-specific formatting.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Premiere Pro and/or CapCut.
- A comprehensive understanding of the specifications, trends, and best practices for platforms like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
- An ability to identify high-performing content and a keen interest in the strategies and data that drive success.
- Comfort with editing unrefined creator footage and enhancing it to meet quality standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, enabling effective management of files and deadlines.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and improve speed and versatility in editing.
Nice to have
- Experience in editing user-generated content (UGC) or creator-driven material specifically for paid advertising campaigns.
- Familiarity with the fintech sector, family finance, or subscription-based consumer products.
- Basic skills in motion graphics or animation to enhance video content.
- Experience utilizing paid social performance metrics (e.g., click-through rate, hook rate, thumb-stop rate) to inform and refine editing choices.

Practical notes
- The estimated base salary range for this position in New York, California, and Washington is between $55,000 and $95,000.
- For candidates located in Colorado, the estimated base salary range is $55,000 to $85,000.
- Total compensation includes a discretionary performance bonus and equity incentives.
