Join the Payments team to develop the mobile infrastructure that powers transactions for millions of users across Southeast Asia. You will focus on building secure, high-performance checkout flows and payment methods that define the core Grab experience. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end delivery of mobile features that directly influence conversion, retention, and trust across a diverse set of markets. Elevate testing standards by developing comprehensive unit, integration, and instrumentation tests to safeguard against regressions.
Partner with backend, design, and product departments to translate business requirements into coherent technical roadmaps and implementation plans.
Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold best practices and contribute to architectural design decisions that affect the broader codebase.
Resolve production incidents with urgency while maintaining operational standards and documenting learnings for long-term improvements.
Utilize data insights and A/B testing results to refine user experience and optimize key business metrics related to payment success and friction reduction.
Champion secure coding principles specific to mobile environments to protect sensitive user and transactional data.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize work in a dynamic setting where requirements can be complex and ambiguous.
Invest in modern Android architecture components to ensure the codebase remains modular, testable, and maintainable over time.

Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing Android applications across multiple projects and codebases.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Kotlin, including its type system, coroutines, and modern language features.
- Show a proven track record of successfully shipping and maintaining large-scale consumer mobile features that reach production.
- Exhibit a deep understanding of client-server communication protocols, API integration, and backend-driven workflows.
- Display the ability to manage complex and ambiguous technical requirements while delivering clear solutions under pressure.
- Have hands-on experience with Android architecture components such as ViewModel, LiveData, and Room.
- Be fluent in the use of Coroutines and Jetpack libraries to build responsive and lifecycle-aware user interfaces.
- Apply secure coding principles with an emphasis on mobile security, including data storage, network communication, and authentication flows.
- Bring a background in fintech, payments, authentication, or other high-trust domains where reliability is critical.
- Have substantial experience operating within large-scale consumer technology organizations with mature engineering practices.
- Understand the importance of performance optimization and how to measure it using real-world metrics and profiling tools.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift based on business needs and user impact.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and trade-offs.
- Take ownership of the full product lifecycle from implementation through monitoring and iterative improvement.
