What you'll do
- Operate machinery and hand tools to cut, measure, and shape wooden components with accuracy.
- Execute the assembly of roof trusses, wall frames, and structural posts according to detailed production plans.
- Inspect incoming lumber and finished products to verify that they meet company specifications and safety standards.
- Interpret imperial measurements on tape measures and adjust cutting lengths to satisfy technical requirements.
- Arrange and stack components in designated areas to ensure a smooth workflow and orderly storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation to promote efficiency and uphold health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with team members to meet daily production quotas without compromising quality.
- Transport materials within the facility using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform routine checks on tools and equipment to ensure they remain in proper working condition.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by supervision to support the broader operational needs of the plant.
- Adhere strictly to production schedules to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers.
- Follow all company procedures regarding the handling and disposal of waste materials.
- Support the continuous improvement of the production process by suggesting practical enhancements.
- Document any irregularities or defects observed during the manufacturing stages for further review.
- Participate actively in safety drills and toolbox talks to reinforce a culture of caution and awareness.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship at this time.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate company vehicles if required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check as part of the hiring process.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 25 pounds repeatedly throughout the work shift.
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure measurements and cuts are executed correctly.
- Must show reliability and punctuality, arriving ready to work at the scheduled start time.
- Must function effectively within a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with coworkers.
- Must comply with all health and safety rules established by the company and regulatory bodies.
- Must have the ability to stand or walk for extended periods while performing manual tasks.

- Experience working as a general laborer or in a carpentry role in a manufacturing setting.

- Shift availability includes daytime hours from Monday to Friday, as well as evening shifts running from Monday through Thursday.
- The schedule includes rotating shifts, with some evenings extending into late night hours.
