Product Analyst
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end analytics for a set of flagship products, translating ambiguous business questions into clear measurement strategies and actionable insights. You will partner tightly with Product Managers and Designers to define experiments, set tracking foundations, and ensure that every product decision is grounded in robust quantitative evidence. You will build and iterate on core product metrics, creating dashboards and models that reveal user behaviour, segment performance, and commercial impact across the business. You will champion a data-first culture by mentoring colleagues, standardising best practices, and elevating the quality of data conversations in every forum. You will leverage advanced SQL, experimentation platforms, and visualization tools to surface opportunities, manage risk, and continuously refine the product roadmap. You will own the lifecycle of insight delivery, from discovery and prototyping through to clear storytelling that drives consensus and execution. You will be the primary analytical voice for product performance, ensuring that every experiment and product change is evaluated with rigorous methods and transparent reporting.
Key facts
What you'll do
Interpret strategic business problems and convert them into quantifiable hypotheses and tracking specifications that align stakeholders.
Design and implement controlled experiments, defining success metrics, sample sizes, and analysis plans before product deployment.
Develop and maintain core product dashboards in Looker, ensuring data quality, lineage, and usability for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Write efficient, maintainable SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets across our Google Cloud Platform and dbt environment.
Build and validate user segmentation and customer lifetime value models to inform pricing, onboarding, and feature rollout decisions.
Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to integrate model outputs into analytical workflows and measure their business impact.
Partner with Product Managers to translate high-level goals into measurable outcomes and embed data-driven thinking into roadmapping sessions.
Establish tracking standards and governance across products, mentoring non-technical teams on instrumentation best practices and Amplitude workflows.
Analyse funnel and engagement patterns using Amplitude and Looker, identifying friction points and opportunities to improve conversion and retention.
Automate routine reporting and insight delivery using Python and Airflow, freeing the team to focus on high-value strategic analysis.
Apply rigorous testing methodologies, including A/B test design, result interpretation, and statistical evaluation to support confident rollout decisions.
Leverage Google Cloud Platform services to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective data pipelines that support real-time decision making.
Champion experimentation literacy across the organisation, facilitating workshops and documentation that raise the standard of product analytics.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives and visualisations that influence executive stakeholders and drive product action.
Requirements
You have a degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates analytical rigour.
You have proven experience owning experiment processes, including designing, implementing, and analysing A/B tests in a production environment.
You possess advanced SQL skills and are comfortable writing complex queries to explore data, join systems, and validate results.
You have hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, building dashboards that drive decisions and tell coherent stories.
You have worked with Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation, showing comfort with data manipulation and integration tasks.
You have a strong understanding of data modelling principles and have worked with dimensional modelling approaches in a cloud environment like Google Cloud Platform.
You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating business needs into analytical requirements and influencing without authority.
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, formulating questions, and scoping analytical approaches when the path to insight is not immediately obvious.
Nice to have
Experience working in high-growth product-driven environments where experimentation directly influences business outcomes.
Familiarity with our technology stack, including Looker, dbt, Google Cloud Platform, Vertex, Jupyter, and Airflow.
Background in building segmentation models or customer lifetime value analyses that directly impact product or commercial decisions.
Exposure to AI and machine learning workflows, including how model outputs can be incorporated into analysis and tracked for performance.
