Senior Software Engineer, Endpoint Agent
Job description
About the role
You own the complete lifecycle for desktop security software, designing and shipping agent capabilities that sit inside customer operating systems. This role demands low level systems thinking for high impact products. You solve demanding OS challenges inside a fast moving security environment. You will set the architectural direction for core agent modules, ensuring that every line of code aligns with the broader security strategy. You will partner closely with research and product teams to turn high level requirements into robust, production grade desktop components. The work requires you to balance performance, stability, and security while moving quickly in a startup setting. You will be responsible for validating agent reliability under diverse conditions before customer rollout.
Key facts
What you'll do
Setting the architectural direction for core agent modules in Rust and C++ on endpoints.
Designing data flows between backend services and desktop components to close functional gaps.
Implementing interaction patterns with Windows and macOS internals for stable agent behavior.
Producing production ready code where performance, stability, and security are non negotiable constraints.
Collaborating with security research to translate findings into hardened agent capabilities quickly.
Coordinating with platform teams so endpoint features integrate cleanly with broader product workflows.
Translating product requirements into reliable desktop software that operates inside customer environments.
Validating agent reliability under diverse system conditions before customer rollout.
Coordinating with backend engineers to ensure seamless integration between services and endpoint agents.
Profiling and optimizing agent resource usage to minimize impact on customer systems.
Implementing secure communication channels between the desktop agent and cloud backend components.
Driving operational visibility by instrumenting agent behavior for monitoring and debugging purposes.
Partnering with product managers to define and iterate on the desktop user experience for security features.
Leading incident response for issues that originate in or are amplified by the desktop agent runtime.
