About the role

You will own the design and implementation of critical backend services that form the core of Glow's platform, shaping how security data is processed and delivered. You will architect and maintain scalable, secure microservices using Python and Go to meet the demands of enterprise endpoint security. Your work will directly influence the reliability and performance of the analytics layer built on ClickHouse, ensuring data integrity and speed. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and service contracts. You will drive end-to-end delivery, taking responsibility for design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring in production environments. You will participate actively in design and code reviews, elevating the quality and maintainability of the codebase. You will leverage cutting-edge stacks and advanced AI capabilities to solve complex problems and build features that matter to our customers. What you'll do

• Design and build backend services and microservices using Python and Go, focusing on scalability and resilience.
• Design schemas, manage migrations, and build the analytics layer on ClickHouse to support high-performance querying.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS and Kubernetes, ensuring infrastructure reliability and efficiency.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability of backend systems through proactive monitoring and iterative refinement.
• Participate in design and code reviews to uphold best practices and share knowledge across the engineering team.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of features, coordinating across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring phases.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to clarify requirements, explain tradeoffs, and iterate quickly.
• Thrive in a dynamic, high-velocity landscape by leveraging modern stacks and advanced AI capabilities to solve hard problems.
• Own the full lifecycle of backend components, from initial design through to long-term maintenance and optimization.
• Ensure security and compliance considerations are addressed within backend services and data flows.
• Optimize database queries and data pipelines to support efficient analytics and reporting needs.
• Work on integrations with external tools and platforms to enhance product capabilities and customer value.
• Contribute to the definition of service standards and architectural direction for the engineering organization.
• Mentor and support junior engineers by providing guidance and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

• Have production experience building backend services at scale using common backend languages.
• Bring practical experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for deploying and operating services.
• Have practical experience with microservices architecture and PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrate the Glow Mindset by taking ownership, acting with accountability, and collaborating openly to deliver meaningful impact.
• Thrive in fast-moving environments, embrace ambiguity, and enjoy solving hard problems through collaboration.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Maintain full professional fluency in both Hebrew and English, written and verbal, for clear communication and documentation.
• Show strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems.
• Have experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code practices.
• Understand security principles and threat modeling relevant to backend services and data protection.
• Possess excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Be comfortable working in a high-velocity environment with frequent changes and evolving priorities.
• Demonstrate ownership of operational concerns such as monitoring, logging, and alerting for backend services.
• Have a track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
