About the role
You own the fundraising software vision for nonprofits. You will design systems that convert donor intent into revenue for good causes. You will guide engineers while staying close to production realities. This role blends leadership with code to serve changemakers.

Requirements
You must have 7+ years writing frontend code with React and related modern tools.
You must bring 2+ years managing a team of 5 or more engineers successfully.
You must handle PHP and Laravel work when needed to support the platform.
You must thrive in a remote setting with asynchronous communication and focus.
Nice to have
Experience working with nonprofit customers and donation processing systems.

Practical notes
Hours may overlap with US West Coast business times; some travel may be required.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP of Engineering to develop and execute the frontend engineering strategy
- Lead, manage, and mentor a talented team of full stack engineers, driving the development of beautiful and delightful user experiences
- Own the frontend function, setting the technical direction and ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Bring technical expertise to the evolution of Givebutter's software; ensure architecture and stack are optimized for growth
- Improve internal engineering workflows, continually refining best practices
- Champion code quality across the team and uphold a high standard for maintainable and scalable solutions
- A passion for building beautiful, user-friendly, and accessible web applications
- Evaluate and apply AI and machine learning tools - such as LLMs, recommendation systems, or predictive analytics - to drive innovation in product development
