Gibson Dunn maintains a global practice that advises clients on significant transactions and disputes. The firm's work is defined by a combination of precision and vision. Within this context, the Lateral Partner Recruiting Assistant reports to the Chief of Lateral Partner Recruitment & Integration with additional support lines to the Senior Director of Recruiting and Senior Managers of Lateral Partner Recruiting & Integration. The assistant serves as a global resource for the Department while gaining visibility into lateral partner recruitment across all practices. This role exists within a busy and dynamic team and includes participation in the integration of all lateral partners hired across the firm. You will own the end-to-end partner intake journey, shaping how teams bring in lateral partners and designing clear structures that turn complexity into calm execution. A core responsibility involves orchestrating interview schedules, coordinating calendars, and preparing materials for many internal teams. You will design communication flows that connect candidates, recruiters, and busy stakeholders across time zones while maintaining organized candidate files. The role requires managing interview operations, including reserving conference rooms, arranging catering, liaising with Reception, Catering and Information Support teams, and interacting with the Travel Department as needed. You will maintain the applicant tracking database, ensuring precise data entry, careful management, and ongoing analysis. Guarding organized candidate files is essential, including chasing missing or incomplete items until completion. Additional duties include assisting in preparing committee meeting materials and PowerPoint presentations that clarify thinking for busy reviewers. The position also involves building and maintaining search firm agreements and keeping terms clear for every engagement. You will conduct market research where familiarity with AI resources becomes a useful advantage and communicate as needed with candidates, recruiters, and internal stakeholders. The role concludes with performing other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements
You must have professional experience in addition to a college or university degree. You must handle confidential information with care and protect sensitive firm data at all times. Strong written and oral communication skills are required at every level of interaction. You will manage multiple tasks and shifting deadlines without losing precision or focus. Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is mandatory. Demonstrating sharp attention to detail is required in every deliverable you own. Excellent customer service skills are necessary to interface with all levels of staff and management.
Nice to have
Experience in lateral partner recruiting within a large law firm environment is valued. Comfort learning and applying AI tools to improve research and scheduling is a preferred asset.
