What you'll do

• Conduct thorough reliability assessments of electrical systems to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies aimed at minimizing downtime and maximizing system availability.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that new electrical installations meet reliability standards.
• Analyze failure data and trends to develop predictive maintenance schedules and improve overall system performance.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on reliability metrics, system performance, and maintenance activities for stakeholders.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for electrical failures and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of reliability programs and make adjustments as necessary to achieve targets.
• Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel on electrical systems and troubleshooting procedures.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to electrical reliability and maintenance.
• Participate in safety audits and ensure that all electrical work complies with safety regulations and standards.
• Assist in the development of training programs for staff on reliability principles and electrical system maintenance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting reliability-focused initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical reliability engineering or a similar role within the energy sector.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and methodologies, including FMEA and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in using reliability analysis software and tools to assess system performance.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and proactive.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to electrical systems and reliability.
• Experience with project management principles and practices is a plus.

Nice to have

• Professional certification in reliability engineering (e.g., CRE, CMRP) is advantageous.
• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies, such as condition monitoring and data analytics.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems and their reliability challenges.
• Previous experience in a mining or industrial environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of software tools for data analysis, such as MATLAB or Python, would be beneficial.
