What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans and specifications.
• Conduct structural analysis and design using advanced engineering software and tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all calculations.
• Manage project budgets and timelines, providing regular updates to senior management and clients on project status and deliverables.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and documentation, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with structural projects, implementing effective solutions to address challenges as they arise.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering, incorporating new knowledge into project work.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a focus on structural engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in project management.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration in New Brunswick.
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including reports and specifications.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations in Canada.
• A commitment to safety and quality assurance in all engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in leading large-scale infrastructure projects or complex structural designs.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building certifications.
• Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
