About the role
Galaxy is seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Facilities to lead the strategic planning, operational management, and overall supervision of our data center facilities. This leadership role is vital for ensuring that our physical infrastructure, workplace services, and vendor relationships operate seamlessly to support the company's growth and operational excellence. The VP of Facilities will be responsible for overseeing multiple locations, managing space utilization, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring that all facilities meet the company's high standards for safety, functionality, and aesthetics. This position requires a proactive leader capable of coordinating cross-functional teams, managing vendor partnerships, and implementing best practices in facilities management to support Galaxy's expanding data center footprint.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead and oversee facilities operations across all existing and future data center locations, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for space utilization, office layout, and expansion projects to support organizational growth.
- Manage all aspects of office renovations, relocations, and improvements, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with landlords, property managers, and service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure service quality.
- Ensure all facilities comply with safety, security, and environmental regulations, and uphold company policies for workplace safety and aesthetics.
- Oversee reception services, visitor management, mail handling, and office supplies to maintain a professional and welcoming environment.
- Support fleet management by overseeing vehicle procurement, maintenance, and usage policies, ensuring efficient transportation logistics.
- Manage the company's uniform programs, ensuring proper distribution and maintenance of employee apparel.
- Collaborate with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) teams to ensure proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) supplies and compliance with safety standards.
- Work closely with Human Resources to facilitate employee onboarding, ensuring new hires are set up with appropriate workspace and resources.
- Oversee property management activities, including maintenance, landscaping, and security services, to maintain the physical integrity of all facilities.
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts for janitorial, security, maintenance, and other facility-related services.
- Support real estate strategy efforts, including site selection, lease negotiations, and lease administration to optimize facility footprint.
- Implement operational improvements by analyzing facility performance data and identifying areas for efficiency gains.
- Ensure facilities meet all regulatory requirements and standards, including ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance where applicable.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning for all facilities to minimize risk and ensure business continuity.
- Monitor and control facilities-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards.
- Provide leadership and direction to facilities staff and coordinate with other departments to align operational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Real Estate, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing facilities, property management, or operations, preferably in a data center or infrastructure environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple facilities across different geographic locations, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiations and service level agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans for facilities operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Budget management experience, including cost control and financial planning.
- Knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to facilities management.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Experience supporting infrastructure or data center operations, with familiarity with technical facility requirements.
- Background in managing facilities during periods of rapid organizational growth or scaling.
