About the role
You will own the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of automated testing frameworks that safeguard product quality and deployment reliability for Double the Donation. This role sits at the intersection of Product and Engineering, where you will eliminate manual bottlenecks and enable faster, higher-quality releases through scalable automation. You will translate user flows and product requirements into resilient automated test suites while collaborating closely with Product Designers and Engineers to define and meet acceptance criteria. A core part of your ownership is monitoring application performance and deployment stability to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users. You will also document testing frameworks, processes, and best practices to empower the broader organization with sustainable quality practices. Additionally, you will track and report on testing coverage, bug trends, and deployment metrics to drive continuous improvement. Ultimately, this role supports organizations making a positive impact by ensuring mission-critical tools are reliable, performant, and ready for scale.

What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright) to ensure coverage of critical product workflows.
- Translate product requirements and user flows into scalable, automated test cases that validate business functionality.
- Identify gaps in current QA processes and proactively improve testing coverage and reliability across the application.
- Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Engineers to ensure features meet acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Own and optimize the testing lifecycle within the development process, reducing manual QA dependency and accelerating feedback.
- Support CI/CD pipeline management and improvements to ensure smooth, reliable, and repeatable deployments.
- Monitor application performance and deployment stability, identifying and resolving issues proactively through observation and analysis.
- Document testing frameworks, processes, and best practices for internal teams to enable consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Track and report on testing coverage, bug trends, and deployment quality metrics to inform data-driven decisions.
- Implement test strategies that align with product milestones and engineering delivery schedules while maintaining high quality.
- Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to validate environment readiness and configuration for testing and staging.
- Contribute to the creation of automated regression suites that provide rapid feedback on core user journeys and critical paths.
- Advise on risk-based testing approaches to focus automation efforts on high-impact areas of the product and user experience.
- Support the evaluation and adoption of new testing tools and technologies to improve efficiency and test reliability.
- Act as a quality advocate across the team, promoting practices that prevent defects and encourage robust, maintainable code.
Requirements
- Based in the Philippines with consistent availability for a long-term role.
- Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong academic background with an outstanding General Weighted Average.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in a SaaS or fast-paced software development environment.
- Strong proficiency in automated testing frameworks (preferably Playwright).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
- Ability to translate product requirements into technical test cases and communicate issues clearly to developers.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across both frontend and backend systems.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying gaps and inefficiencies.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to consistent attendance and responsiveness during core collaboration hours.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies, processes, and documentation standards.

Practical notes
Work-from-home setup; target of 42.5 billable hours per week; daily rhythm with a 4.5-hour morning block from 9:30am to 2:00pm (PHT), a free afternoon, and a second 4.5-hour block from 8:00pm to 12:30am (PHT); sleep/rest from 12:30am to 9:30am (PHT); schedule may shift by 1 hour when time difference changes between 12-hour and 13-hour differences.
