About the role
Flow Traders is seeking an experienced and motivated Institutional Sales professional to focus on the Nordic region. This role is based in Amsterdam and involves engaging with institutional clients, managing trading relationships, and supporting the growth of our Nordic client base. You will be responsible for executing trades, providing market insights, and developing strategies to strengthen our presence in the Nordic markets. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment where client interaction and market expertise are key. You will collaborate closely with internal teams such as Trading, Risk, Middle Office, and Onboarding to ensure seamless service delivery and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Nordic financial markets, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to client management.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the full lifecycle of client relationships within the Nordic region, including onboarding, ongoing engagement, and account management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for institutional clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored trading solutions.
- Execute trades across ETF, equity, and fixed income products, ensuring accurate bookings, allocations, and confirmations in compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong market relationships by sharing relevant insights, market trends, and trading ideas with clients and internal teams.
- Collect, analyze, and share market data, trends, and insights to support trading strategies and client decision-making processes.
- Prepare and deliver marketing materials, reports, and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders to facilitate communication and business development.
- Utilize and maintain applications relevant to sales activities, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Order Management Systems (OMS), and Execution Management Systems (EMS).
- Collaborate with Risk, Middle Office, and Onboarding teams to ensure smooth trade processing, settlement, and compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Identify new business opportunities within the Nordic region by prospecting and engaging with potential clients.
- Contribute to the development of regional sales strategies, including market entry plans and client segmentation.
- Provide feedback to product teams regarding client needs, market developments, and product enhancements.
- Support internal training and knowledge sharing to ensure the sales team remains informed about market developments and product offerings.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Nordic ETF, equity, and fixed income markets, including key players, trading patterns, and regulatory environment.
- Monitor and analyze competitors' activities and market positioning to identify opportunities and threats.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen relationships and promote Flow Traders' offerings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ITAR, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (Swedish, Finnish, or Danish); additional language skills are a plus.
- 2 to 6 years of experience working in financial markets, with a focus on sales, trading, or client relationship management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex market concepts clearly.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and presentation purposes.
- Solid understanding of Nordic ETF, equity, and fixed income markets, including key market participants and trading practices.
- Experience with CRM, OMS, and EMS platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, and AI assistant tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Experience managing external client relationships and developing new business opportunities.
- Knowledge of compliance standards, including ITAR regulations, and ability to ensure adherence to internal policies.

- Prior experience working in a trading or sales environment within a financial institution.
