About the role
You will own the definition and execution of how the combined Fivetran and dbt Labs organization uses its core collaborative platforms to execute work. This role is responsible for establishing the single source of truth for work standards across the NewCo entity. You will define how we collaborate internally and externally, ensuring clarity and consistency for all teams. The position involves leveraging technology and AI to automate governance and keep information architectures clean and reliable. You will partner closely with department champions to ensure standards are adopted and lived across the organization. This role is critical in making our knowledge bases a trusted source of truth for every employee. You will also define project management baselines to align programs and portfolios on a common language. Ultimately, you will ensure that our ways of working drive speed, trust, and coherence across the newly combined entity.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and drive NewCo's ways of working across six dimensions, establishing the foundational standards for how work gets done.
- Set standards for how teams collaborate internally inside Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace to ensure a consistent employee experience.
- Extend guidance to external shared spaces with partners, customers, and vendors, outlining what should differ from our internal norms.
- Establish lightweight, documented decision-making practices, such as DACI-style ownership, to accelerate how we decide.
- Own Notion governance, information architecture, and content standards so our knowledge base remains a trusted source of truth.
- Set shared baselines for Jira project and program structure, naming conventions, and usage to align portfolio management.
- Define Slack conventions, channel governance, and async communication norms to reduce noise and increase signal.
- Define what "good" looks like for each core tool and publish it as canonical, company-wide guidance that is easily accessible.
- Leverage AI to keep workspaces clean, audit for inconsistencies, and maintain standards at scale without manual overhead.
- Run recurring compliance checks and drive channels and workspaces into conformance over time through systematic reviews.
- Partner with department champions to roll out standards and support adoption across all functions.
- Align with the AI Transformation team on how we apply AI within these tools to enhance productivity and governance.
- Incorporate ongoing employee-experience feedback from the People team to refine standards continuously.
- Measure the impact of our ways of working initiatives and iterate based on data and qualitative insights.
