About the role
You will monitor a portfolio of Commercial and Enterprise customers, proactively managing account health, product adoption, and utilization to identify expansion opportunities and mitigate churn risks. You will lead technical discussions with key stakeholders, uncovering complex data challenges and demonstrating how dbt Cloud can resolve them through live interactions and workshops. You will act as the primary voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring product strategy and roadmap decisions reflect real-world needs and pain points. You will drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by building strong, trust-based relationships that result in higher retention, renewal, and expansion rates. You will educate customers on new and existing dbt Cloud capabilities, ensuring they fully leverage the platform to achieve their analytics and business objectives. You will collaborate closely with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects to shape the customer lifecycle, providing strategic input into renewals, growth initiatives, and account planning. You will contribute to the development of internal processes and playbooks, helping to establish best practices for the Customer Solutions Architect team.

What you'll do
Monitor a portfolio of Commercial and Enterprise customers, proactively tracking account health, product adoption, and utilization to surface expansion opportunities and reduce churn risk.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders inside customer organizations to understand analytics use cases and challenges.
Educate customers on new and existing dbt Cloud features and capabilities, enabling them to extract maximum value from their deployment.
Collaborate with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects to provide strategic input on account planning, renewals, and growth initiatives.
Lead technical discovery sessions and live demonstrations to uncover data transformation needs and showcase dbt Cloud solutions.
Champion the voice of the customer within the company, translating feedback into product insights and roadmap recommendations.
Conduct value realization workshops that highlight successful outcomes and drive deeper product adoption.
Support the development of internal playbooks and processes that standardize the Customer Solutions Architect engagement approach.
Partner with product and engineering teams to validate solutions and ensure customer problems are addressed effectively.
Act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through strategic decisions that impact their data infrastructure and analytics maturity.
Identify risks to account health and recommend actions that preserve and expand long-term customer relationships.
Represent dbt Cloud in cross-functional discussions, aligning customer needs with product capabilities and business objectives.
Requirements
Must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating foundational knowledge relevant to data platforms or analytics.
Must have at least three years of progressive experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Architect, Customer Success Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
Must have at least three years of experience working with data platforms, data pipelines, or analytics tools, showing familiarity with concepts like transformation, orchestration, and warehousing.
Must be comfortable working in a cloud-first environment, with hands-on exposure to at least one major cloud provider and infrastructure as code principles.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Must be highly proficient in at least one programming or query language, such as SQL, Python, or JavaScript, to engage in technical problem-solving.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship, as this role is based in Austin, Texas.
Must be willing to work from the Austin office two days per week during standard business hours.
