About the role
Five9 is seeking a Data Engineer II to join our team in Bengaluru. You will focus on building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our cloud contact center solutions. In this capacity, you will own the end to end lifecycle of data moving through our production environments. You will partner with analytics and product teams to turn complex operational requirements into robust data products. The role requires you to translate ambiguous business problems into structured data initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring that data flows are reliable, performant, and secure at every stage. You will contribute to the architectural decisions that shape our data platform roadmap. You will mentor junior engineers on best practices for writing clean and maintainable data code.

- Document data structures, dependencies, and operational procedures for internal teams.

- Support data migration initiatives and ensure backward compatibility with existing consumers.
Requirements
- Professional experience in data engineering or a related software development role.
- Proficiency in designing data models and managing large-scale datasets.
- Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for data processing.
- Ability to work in a hybrid office environment in Bengaluru.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud computing platforms and associated services.
- Understanding of data pipeline orchestration tools and scheduling mechanisms.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies in production scenarios.
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions and optimization techniques for analytics workloads.
- Experience writing unit tests and maintaining version control for data projects.
- Comfort with parsing logs, metrics, and operational data for debugging purposes.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies regarding data security and access control.
- Commitment to following established coding standards and documentation guidelines.
- Track record of collaborating effectively in an agile software delivery environment.
