About the role
Fin is seeking a product engineer to join our multidisciplinary teams to solve complex customer problems. You will build full-stack systems while collaborating with designers, researchers, and product managers to scale our AI Customer Agent platform. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end delivery of features that directly influence the reliability and scalability of our production environment. Your work will ensure that the platform meets the demands of a global user base while maintaining high standards of performance and maintainability. You will be responsible for translating ambiguous product requirements into robust technical solutions that can withstand real-world traffic and edge cases. This role requires a proactive mindset to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements before they impact the customer experience. You will act as a technical leader, guiding the architecture decisions that shape how our AI Customer Agent interacts with backend systems.

What you'll do
- Architect and develop technical plans to support a platform serving tens of millions of daily users.
- Write Ruby code to integrate AWS, infrastructure, and SaaS components.
- Deploy code to production on your first day and release features within your first week.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in the candidate interview process.
- Utilize AI-powered developer tools to streamline workflows and reduce friction.
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to refine feature specifications before implementation.
- Analyze production metrics to identify trends and drive data-informed product decisions.
- Optimize application performance to ensure fast response times across all customer touchpoints.
- Implement automated testing strategies to increase confidence in releases and reduce manual QA overhead.
- Maintain and evolve existing codebases to improve readability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Partner with security teams to ensure that all integrations comply with industry standards and best practices.
- Contribute to technical documentation that helps the broader engineering organization understand system behavior.
- Support on-call rotations to address production incidents and provide timely resolutions to critical issues.
- Explore new technologies and frameworks that could provide a competitive advantage in the market.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally within a SaaS environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver significant impact on product outcomes and team performance.
- Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Javascript.
- Practical experience working with distributed systems.
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams including designers and product managers.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services, is mandatory for this role.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
