What you'll do

• Design and implement robust security architectures within our AWS cloud environments to ensure data protection and compliance.
• Develop and uphold security protocols that provide enhanced visibility into potential threats within the cloud infrastructure.
• Create and refine detection mechanisms to swiftly identify and respond to malicious activities, minimizing potential damage.
• Lead and coordinate investigations into security incidents, working closely with engineering teams to resolve issues effectively.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to address and manage security incidents as they arise, ensuring rapid response times.
• Automate security processes to boost efficiency and scalability of security measures across the organization.
• Integrate security practices seamlessly into cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering workflows to promote a security-first culture.
• Establish and continuously improve cloud security standards and best practices tailored to Fin's operational needs.
• Oversee security projects from initial concept through to completion, assessing their effectiveness and impact on the organization.
• Stay informed about emerging threats to cloud environments and proactively enhance our security defenses.
• Contribute to the development of Fin's AI-centric security strategy, focusing on AI-assisted detection and automated incident investigations.
• Support the secure integration of AI tools in software development processes, ensuring compliance with security protocols.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in cloud security, security engineering, or detection engineering, with a strong focus on AWS environments.
• Demonstrated experience in securing and managing production AWS environments effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, common attack vectors, and industry best practices.
• Proven track record in building or managing detection, monitoring, or threat detection systems.
• Hands-on experience in investigating security incidents and leading resolution efforts.
• Familiarity with implementing security controls in cloud platforms and production systems.
• Proficiency in programming and developing automation or operational tools to enhance security measures.
• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and cloud-native technologies.
• Comfort with utilizing AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and security.
• Ability to articulate complex security concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• A pragmatic approach to balancing security requirements with business objectives and engineering goals.

Nice to have

• Experience in building detection engineering, threat hunting, or security operations at scale within large organizations.
• Familiarity with cloud-native security platforms, CNAPP tools, or extensive cloud security monitoring solutions.
• Background in applying AI technologies to enhance security detection, response, or operational processes.
• Knowledge of AWS networking, identity management, and prevalent cloud security patterns.
• Experience working in both large-scale SaaS environments and rapidly growing companies.
