About the role

Figure is building general purpose humanoid robots to address labor shortages and automate dangerous or repetitive tasks. The Data Strategy Associate will own the operational logistics of our offsite data collection initiatives, ensuring every deployment runs with precision. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can translate complex field conditions into clear, actionable plans. You will manage scheduling, site preparation, and contractor coordination to keep data pipelines clean and uninterrupted. The position demands strong analytical problem-solving and independent decision-making in dynamic residential environments. You will develop scalable operational workflows while monitoring budgets, timelines, and status reports to identify and mitigate obstacles early. Finally, you will synthesize performance metrics and project updates for the AI Data Collection Manager to guide strategic refinements.

What you'll do

• Orchestrate the full lifecycle of robot data collection deployments in residential environments, handling scheduling, site readiness, and contingency planning.
• Direct contractors and prop teams across multiple simultaneous project sites, aligning resources, timelines, and on-site execution standards.
• Synchronize robot logistics with service teams to ensure hardware availability, maintenance windows, and deployment deadlines are consistently met.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and status reports while identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential operational obstacles before they escalate.
• Develop and document scalable operational workflows and tracking systems that standardize data collection processes across diverse locations.
• Perform data-driven analysis of deployment performance, extracting insights that inform efficiency improvements and risk reduction.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve dependencies, manage change requests, and maintain alignment on project objectives.
• Communicate project health through concise narratives and structured updates, highlighting variances, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Present performance metrics and project updates to the AI Data Collection Manager, supporting evidence-based decision making.
• Maintain rigorous documentation of procedures, outcomes, and lessons learned to build institutional knowledge and improve future iterations.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in program management, consulting, investment banking, or startup operations, with demonstrable impact in fast-paced settings.
• Strong capacity for analytical problem-solving and independent decision-making, even when working with incomplete or ambiguous information.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly using data, translating technical details into concise, audience-appropriate narratives.
• Proven track record of managing high-pressure, time-sensitive projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Sheets, for building and maintaining operational dashboards and tracking tools.
• Familiarity with various operational management software systems used to log, monitor, and report on project activities.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on team success, actively seeking feedback and contributing to a constructive, inclusive work environment.
• Willingness to adhere to strict operational protocols and documentation standards that ensure consistency and compliance.

Practical notes

The annual base salary for this position is $100,000 to $180,000. Final compensation is determined by individual experience, skills, and relevant knowledge. Additional benefits and compensation details will be provided during the offer stage. You will be based in San Jose, Canada, working full-time, 5 days per week in an office environment. This role is part of the Robot Data Collection team, collaborating closely with service and operations stakeholders. The position reports to the AI Data Collection Manager and is integral to scaling data collection operations. There are no specified hours beyond the standard full-time schedule, and no travel or visa requirements are outlined in this description.
