About the role
Figma is on the lookout for a Director of IT to lead our IT Operations, IT Engineering, and AI Enablement teams. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing our internal technology infrastructure and tools, while also shaping our strategy for integrating AI across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, ready to drive innovation and efficiency within our IT landscape.

What you'll do
- Build and mentor a diverse team of over 20 professionals, including both managers and senior contributors, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for our internal IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the demands of security, scalability, and reliability for our global team.
- Collaborate closely with the AI team to devise and execute an internal AI enablement strategy, enhancing workflows with AI-driven solutions.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system uptime, ticket resolution rates, infrastructure performance, and overall employee satisfaction.
- Oversee relationships with IT vendors, managing contract negotiations and budgetary considerations to optimize service delivery.
- Work in partnership with Security, Legal, People, and Finance departments to uphold compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Serve as an executive sponsor for significant IT projects, including infrastructure migrations and incident management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Drive initiatives to improve IT service management processes, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency across the organization.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the IT sector, with at least 4-5 years in a senior leadership capacity overseeing multiple functions.
- Demonstrated success in scaling IT Operations and Engineering teams within rapidly growing technology firms.
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as enterprise infrastructure, endpoint management, SaaS tools, and IT service management frameworks.
- Proven experience in leading or collaborating on automation or AI projects within a corporate environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in IT practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in a product-driven, design-centric, or SaaS organization that operates with a distributed or hybrid workforce.
- Knowledge of IT security and compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP, which can enhance our operational integrity.
- Familiarity with managing large-scale transformation projects, including tool consolidations or system migrations, to streamline operations.
