About the role
Fictiv is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer specializing in CNC processes to enhance our quality assurance efforts. What you'll do
- Lead the onboarding process for new manufacturing partners, collaborating closely with sourcing teams to assess potential suppliers effectively.
- Perform thorough evaluations of the quality management systems of new manufacturing partners to ensure alignment with our operational objectives.
- Analyze project specifications, including both 2D and 3D requirements, to proactively identify and address potential risks at the beginning of orders.
- Design and execute quality assurance protocols with manufacturing partners to guarantee compliance and facilitate the timely release of shipments.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of manufacturing partners, conducting regular reviews to promote ongoing improvements.
- Respond to customer quality complaints by working with team members to refine internal processes and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Seek out opportunities to enhance our systems and processes, contributing to the overall improvement of our platform offerings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that enhance supplier quality and operational efficiency.
- Provide training and support to manufacturing partners to ensure they understand and meet our quality expectations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality assessments, audits, and corrective actions taken to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality engineering to apply best practices within our operations.
- Participate in regular team meetings to share insights and strategies for improving supplier quality and performance metrics.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is essential.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality engineering, particularly in the CNC industry, is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in CNC programming, machining operations, and various inspection techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of quality systems and tools, including familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
- Understanding of GD&T principles and experience with corrective action reporting is necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage conflicts.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of accountability are crucial for this role.
- Ability to work independently on manufacturing sites while ensuring project success.
- A flexible approach to work, with the capacity to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in English is required, along with experience working collaboratively with teams based in the US.
Nice to have
- Experience in additional machining processes such as injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal fabrication would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with advanced quality tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Previous experience in a global supply chain environment is a plus.

- Experience in project management and risk assessment methodologies is advantageous.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to make informed decisions based on metrics is essential.
