About the role
In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality and safety protocols at Fictiv. The Manager of Quality & Safety will lead a dedicated team focused on maintaining and elevating product quality and safety standards, which are crucial to the company's operational effectiveness. This role will also involve the strategic integration of quality systems between Misumi and Fictiv, promoting a cohesive approach to quality management across the organization.

What you'll do
- Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, managing all aspects from hiring to onboarding, performance assessments, and career development.
- Establish clear performance objectives for each team member that align with the overarching quality goals of the organization, and conduct regular performance reviews to track progress.
- Provide direction to the team in areas such as supplier communication, corrective action implementation, and audit management.
- Oversee the Supplier Quality program, developing strategies and standards for the onboarding process and ongoing enhancement of manufacturing partners.
- Review and authorize corrective action plans, ensuring that thorough root cause analyses are conducted and effective solutions are implemented.
- Monitor and report on manufacturing partner quality KPIs to senior management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ensure that the Quality Management System (QMS) is both effective and compliant with relevant industry standards, supporting risk management and ongoing improvements.
- Manage both internal and external audits to confirm compliance with QMS requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that training materials are available, relevant, and effective for all employees.
- Supervise calibration processes and oversee the operations of the Quality Control Lab located in Schaumburg.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Safety Management Program across all facilities, ensuring adherence to regulations and promoting a culture centered on safety.
- Conduct safety training sessions, inspections, and audits, while also leading investigations into any incidents that occur.
- Manage safety data sheets and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, contributing to the overall safety and sustainability of operations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality management capacity, demonstrating a strong background in the field.
- A data-driven mindset with the capability to implement process enhancements effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills to facilitate collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced, rapidly growing organizations, with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Knowledge of quality management system audits, particularly ISO 9001, along with familiarity with related standards such as AS9100, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949.
Nice to have
- Experience in safety management and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements is a plus.

- Strong analytical abilities for assessing performance metrics and conducting risk assessments.
Practical notes
- The role may require travel up to 30% of the time for meetings, supplier engagements, and customer visits.
- The salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $140,000 annually, contingent on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
