About the role
Feedzai is a Series D company focused on preventing financial crime through advanced AI. This role sits within the Customer Success Engineering team, where you will act as a technical consultant to ensure our fraud analysis platform meets the unique architectural requirements of our global clients. You will own the technical discovery process, translating ambiguous business problems into concrete engineering requirements that drive solution design. In this capacity, you will be responsible for designing and implementing custom integrations that align with Feedzai's core platform while adhering to strict security and scalability standards. You will leverage deep technical expertise to de-risk deployment architectures and ensure that client data pipelines operate reliably at scale. This position requires a proactive mindset, where you identify potential failure points before they impact production environments for our customers. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the platform by ensuring that every custom solution is robust, observable, and maintainable over the long term. Through close collaboration with product and sales teams, you will help shape the technical narrative of Feedzai's offerings in highly competitive financial markets.

What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions with enterprise clients to capture requirements and define integration boundaries.
- Architect and implement custom Java extensions that bridge Feedzai's platform with legacy client environments.
- Analyze system logs and performance metrics to isolate bottlenecks and resolve complex production incidents.
- Translate high-level business objectives into detailed technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Champion the adoption of coding standards and design patterns across the customer success engineering squad.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to elevate the technical capabilities of junior engineers and support staff.
- Investigate and resolve Tier 2 support tickets, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations and workflows.
- Participate in sprint planning and retrospective ceremonies to refine delivery practices within Agile methodologies.
- Evaluate third-party tools and libraries to determine their suitability for integration within client-specific solutions.
- Document technical designs and implementation details to ensure continuity and clarity for future maintenance.
- Collaborate with product managers to provide feedback on feature viability from a technical execution standpoint.
- Monitor deployed solutions to verify performance against service level agreements and client expectations.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience that demonstrates comparable depth of knowledge.
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing software using Java in production environments.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in JVM memory management, including garbage collection tuning and heap analysis.
- Show expertise in thread handling and concurrency control to build high-performance, low-latency systems.
- Have a proven track record of working in client-facing positions where you served as a technical consultant or solution architect.
- Exhibit strong verbal communication skills, enabling you to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Maintain excellent written communication skills in English, producing clear and concise documentation for both technical and business audiences.
- Display the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Show commitment to following regulatory and compliance standards relevant to financial services technology.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with distributed coordination tools such as Zookeeper.
- Working knowledge of message brokers like RabbitMQ and understanding of their role in event-driven architectures.
- Experience managing data platforms that utilize Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible.
- Practical exposure to containerization technologies, particularly Docker and orchestration platforms.
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database design principles and optimization techniques.
- Experience with major cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ in high-throughput scenarios.
Practical notes
Feedzai operates with a flexible remote work policy. If you are located near an office, you may choose between being primarily office-based, flexible (2-3 days per week), or primarily remote (1-2 days per month). Full remote options are available for those not near a global office. The company provides an annual training budget for professional development. Applications are retained for 24 months.
