About the role

What you'll do

Design and implement technical solutions that maximize the value of the Feedzai platform for enterprise customers across the full lifecycle.

Configure, customize, and extend customer solutions using Java, SQL, and platform configuration to address specific business requirements.

Build and maintain secure, scalable integrations using REST APIs, messaging systems, event-driven architectures, and file processing pipelines.

Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, database, infrastructure, and integration layers with minimal business impact.

Analyze and optimize application performance, scalability, and operational reliability under demanding transaction volumes.

Lead technical activities during implementations, upgrades, migrations, and production go-lives to ensure smooth execution.

Support enterprise customers throughout the implementation and post-production lifecycle, ensuring adoption and success.

Review solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure strict alignment with Feedzai best practices and architectural standards.

Mentor other engineers and contribute to reusable implementation assets, documentation, and engineering standards that improve team efficiency.

Collaborate with Product Engineering by providing actionable feedback based on real customer implementations and operational experience.

Drive hands-on technical work while balancing customer-facing responsibilities in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Apply strong analytical skills to evaluate new tools, frameworks, and approaches that enhance solution quality and maintainability.

Partner with cross-functional teams to define and improve deployment, monitoring, and observability strategies for customer solutions.

Champion continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities to enhance performance and reliability.

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record in complex software systems.

Strong Java development skills with the ability to understand, customize, and debug complex applications in production environments.

Strong SQL knowledge and database troubleshooting experience, including query optimization and execution plan analysis.

Experience designing and implementing enterprise software integrations with multiple systems and protocols.

Experience working with REST APIs, messaging platforms, asynchronous systems, and file-based integrations in distributed environments.

Experience with cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS, including relevant services and operational best practices.

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in production environments with minimal guidance.

Experience analyzing Java application performance using thread dumps, heap analysis, and JVM tuning techniques.

Solid understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, scalability, and performance principles.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with customer engineering teams and technical stakeholders.

Ability to balance hands-on technical work with proactive customer engagement and solution ownership.

High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and operational excellence.

Willingness to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.

Nice to have

Preferred experience in financial services, fraud detection, or payment systems within a regulated environment.

Familiarity with Feedzai product concepts, real-time decisioning, and anti-fraud solutions is beneficial but not required.

Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging tools for distributed systems.

Knowledge of security and compliance considerations in financial services applications.
